October 1st Hartford Motor Speedway $5000 to win event to decide Michigan Dirt Cup Allstar Performance Modified Tour title; Championship point fund announced
Hartford, MI – Who will win the inaugural championship? Will there be sixth different winner? There are still a lot of questions to be answered come Saturday October 1st when the Michigan Dirt Cup Allstar Performance Modified Tour visits Hartford Motor Speedway in Hardford, MI for the $5000 to win season finale.
One question that has already been answered though is whether the inaugural season of the Michigan Dirt Cup Allstar Performance Tour would be a success. To say the 2011 season has been a success would be a huge understatement. With the tour having five different winners in the five races run, an average car count of 53 and some of the best side by side racing of the year at each event, the season has been a colossal success.
With no provisional’s available, just making the $5000 finale at Hartford Motor Speedway will be instrumental in winning the tour’s championship. Realistically everyone in the top ten has a shot at winning the championship.
Mark Anderson, who has held the point lead since the first event, will take a five point advantage over Jacob Poel into the final event of the year that will decide the series inaugural champion. Poel has been on fire of late and is currently sixth in UMP Modified National points and leading the UMP Michigan State points. Also with great shots at the championship are Marc Kurth sitting twenty one points back and Aaron Morey only 23 points out of first. Both drivers’ have made gains over the last two races.
If there wasn’t enough pressure on the drivers already adding more pressure to the finale is the $5000 check that goes to the final races winner. Thanks to three sponsors, American Fleet Remarketing, RPM Auto Parts and Landrum Springs, the winner’s payout was increased to $5000 to make this the richest race of the year.
The purse for the Michigan Dirt Cup Allstar Performance Modified Tour portion of Hartford Motor Speedway’s Dealers Choice weekend will be: 1. 5000, 2. 1500, 3. 800, 4. 700, 5. 600, 6. 500, 7. 425, 8. 375, 9. 325, 10. 275, 11. 225, 12. 200, 13. 200, 14. 200, 15. 200, 16. 200, 17. 200, 18. 200, 19. 200, 20. 200.
